Multi-award-winning Director of Photography with a successful career spanning 30 years, specializing primarily in feature-film drama production (including television movies and series). Credits in well over 100 productions, including 14 recent feature films in Europe, Asia and America.

Good reputation in visualization, camera mise-en-scène, and particularly, lighting design. Expertise in 35mm anamorphic cinematography (CinemaScope), and the "forgotten" art of black & white cinematography. Experience with the latest Digital Video systems from DV to High Definition.

  • Graduated with a Diploma in Cinematography.

The School has a respected international reputation. Among its graduates are: Jane Campion (The Piano), Jocelyn Moorehouse (Proof), Gillian Armstrong (Little Women), Phil Noyce (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger), and Andrew Lesnie, ACS (Lord of the Rings).


ADDITIONAL TRAINING:

  • Studied under internationally renowned cinematographers: Don McAlpine, ASC (Mrs Doubtfire), Russel Boyd, ACS (Tender Mercies), and Brian Probyn, BSC (Badlands).
  • Participated in workshops with Haskell Wexler ASC, Dean Cundey ASC, and Allen Daviau ASC, at Paramount Studios, Los Angeles.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Trained Steadicam operator
  • International truck driving licence
  • Scuba experience

RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • Producer and director of many films, both drama and documentary, many of which are in active distribution.
  • Experience as a film editor, screenplay writer, and in marketing films.
